IJack Cranmerwebn just 18 months, Jack has risen through the ranks to become part of a small, select team within A1 that has worked on one of the company’s most-sensitive projects. He’s been given a level of responsibility that is above and beyond that expected of an apprentice and more in line with estimators with 3–4 years’ experience.

Working in a team of nine and his role involves:

  • taking initial estimates from A1’s field sales team and confirming their accuracy and feasibility
  • liaising with A1’s engineers (field and office based) to identify improvements or efficiencies in the design of flue systems required to provide an accurate quote
  • liaising directly with external contractors if more information is required
  • making calculations of materials & components, specialist manufacturing and the labour costs of installation to produce an accurate overall price for a project

Described as the future of A1 with recognition at director level, Jack has a bright future and his current role in estimating, is just the start of what could be a long and prosperous career. His personal qualities, combined with the skills he has developed and his aptitude for learning new skills, already make him a prize asset to A1.
