In 1993 Electro Oil & Gas Burners Ltd, a subsidiary company of Bentone in Sweden, disbanded due to its parent company looking to downsize operations in the UK. Following a management buy-out, the independent company rebranded as EOGB Energy Products Ltd and relocated to St Neots in Cambridgeshire.

Initially EOGB acted as an agent for the Bentone range of burners servicing the needs of the UK customers with technical backup and spares. However, in 2000 it started developing its own products, a range of 12v and 24v versions of the Bentone Sterling burners, before designing and manufacturing its own X series range of domestic oil burners.

EOGB has seen impressive growth since it was established 24 years ago and is now the preferred supplier to many boiler manufacturers, being recognised for the quality of its products and support.

Since 2000, EOGB has been the sole UK agency for Baltur, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of burners. It distributes Baltur’s full range of innovative oil, gas and dual-fuel burners from 14Kw to 45MW for domestic, commercial and industrial applications. The range of burners, with a choice of single stage, two stage and modulating variants, offers the best in flexibility, reliability and ease of maintenance, backed by a personable, responsive service and first-class technical expertise.

From pre-sales enquiries to on-site assessments and commissioning, EOGB prides itself on delivering a first-rate customer service. EOGB personnel have the in-depth knowledge and extensive experience to assist customers in identifying the ideal solution to meet customers specific needs, however demanding they may be.

EOGB is committed to working with its customers each step of the way to provide the solution that perfectly meets their needs. Knowledgeable staff provide a full range of technical support for a wide portfolio of products to customers ranging from self-employed heating engineers to large heating companies and merchants.

In addition to supplying a wide range of burners to suit any application, EOGB also runs a very successful spare parts service, R&D facility and popular training centre.

Spare parts

EOGB provides burner spares and industry related accessories from the majority of major manufacturers at highly competitive prices to an established OEM, stockist and distributor network.
The approximate value of stockholding is £800,000 and spares and industry standard components from manufacturers including Danfoss, Honeywell, Siemens, Aaco and Teddington are available for delivery to independent stockists and distributors throughout the country.

With next day delivery available for the majority of burners or rapid despatch direct from the factory, EOGB is able to respond quickly and flexibly, while a full stock of spares is maintained to ensure minimum burner downtime and inconvenience to customers.

R&D

EOGB’s in-house engineering facility allows products to be adapted for many industrial process applications to provide bespoke solutions for customers. Previous applications have included specialist low voltage burners for spray booths, jet washers, incinerators and military applications.

EOGB also designs, develops and distributes its own XSeries range of burners and in late 2017 it will launch Sapphire, the industry’s first fully modulating low NOx domestic oil burner which runs on kerosene.

Training

EOGB recognises that supplying high quality products is only part of the equation and places a great emphasis on ensuring its engineers and staff are fully conversant with all aspects of its products.

The company’s fully-accredited training and assessment centre has grown considerably since it opened in 2010 and now offers a wide variety of industry-recognised courses such as OFTEC oil and ACS gas in a clean, friendly and ideally-located facility. EOGB engineers also visit customer’s sites to provide face-to-face training for their staff.

EOGB also runs commercial burner training at the Baltur test centre in Bologna, Italy, every summer which provides engineers with hands-on experience of firing large commercial burners, which is not an option in the UK.

Staff development is also a priority and in 2016, EOGB engineer Reece Summerfield won ‘Trainee of the Year’ at the HVR Awards in recognition of outstanding achievement, commitment and personal development. Reece started from scratch in the heating industry and completed a bespoke training programme at EOGB, resulting in him becoming a fully-qualified combustion engineer.

A complete package

EOGB provides a true ‘one-stop-shop’ for the heating engineer, providing an impressive range of products with the added benefit of outstanding technical support and knowledge. In fact, EOGB staff have a total of 166 years of heating industry experience between them!

Paul Barritt, Managing Director at EOGB, said: “EOGB has a very customer-centric company ethos and our core values are geared towards providing excellent service, which will always beat price. Our members of staff, many of whom are long serving, consistently go above and beyond to ensure customers get the support and advice they need. We feel very lucky that customers come back to EOGB time and time again as they are impressed with the level of service we deliver.”

“Not only does EOGB show their value of knowledge and expertise, but they also provide a great technical background and customer service in addition to this, which works well for merchants like ourselves to help our end clients obtain repeat business. After dealing with EOGB for many years, it is always a breath of fresh air as we tend not to see the same service and knowledge from their competitors” – Mike, Burner Heating Spares Ltd
